Show STATES STAT ST A TE NEWS NOT ROT USED USE TO REVOLVERS Newly Nely Ne ly Appointed at Park City Meets With Acci Accidental Accidental Accidental dental Death Park City Utah Jan 12 At 13 this morning Al one of the newly appointed policemen shot himself with his own revolver the bullet going into his mouth and out through the top of his head striking in the wall several feet behind where the unfortunate man was sitting and bounding back across the floor Officers Holindrake and Peterson had been sitting in the office of the station for several minutes waiting until time timeto to put coal in the furnace and at 10 Pe Peterson Peterson Peterson terson went to do this leaving heaving Holindrake waiting for him to come back when they I would patrol the upper part of town to together together gether gother I No one was present when the gun was discharged but the supposition is that owing to his lack of knowledge in regard to the handling of firearms he took the opportunity of investigating the workings s of his revolver while waiting for his brother officer to return from the base basement mont ment and in so doing accidentally dig dis discharged charged the tile weapon which was a regu regulation regulation regulation lation revolver 38 calibre double action Holindrake had been cautioned in regard to handling the gun with care when clean cleats ing loading and unloading the same and he was probably experimenting when the cartridge was exploded Al Holindrake was well known and re respected respected respected in this city fe having lived here herc for the past twenty I rs and his ly I death came as a great shock to all aU lie He was 40 ro years ears old and leaves a wife Ife and three children In this city and three sis and one brother in the southern part of this state The Ontario fraternal lodge of which order he was a member will have charge of the funeral The inquest is being held this afternoon and the following men have been selected as jurymen Henry George Cay Cavanaugh Ca and John Graham The funeral will probably be held Wednesday after noon |
