Show Eo SUSPECTS ARRESTED James Wilson and William Mc McGann McGann Gann Are Held for the Lich Lichtenstein Lichtenstein Burglary James Wilson 25 years of age and William McGann 27 years of age were arrested early yesterday morning by Serg sergeant nt John Hempel and Police Officer car o 0 C for the burglary corn com committed at the apartments of Mr and Mrs Lichenstein 8 Emery flats fiats early Monday evenings Sergeant Hem Hempel pel and Police Officer Brown were in of the men during the nIght and about 5 y yesterday morning they learned that two men had bad attempted to pawn a revolver in a saloon on em East Second South street The description of the men given by the bartender tal tallied tallied lied with the one given to the police Th The men were ver later encountered on Commercial strEet and they were taken to the police station The sealskin coat furs pocketbook locket and chain were recovered from froma a disreputable house on South State street whore where they had been sold Mon Monday day night The woman yoman who bought them identified both Wilson and Mc McGann McGann Gann as the men who sold them to her Detectives Shannon and Wilson cr 1 the stolen property and brought the woman to police headquarters to identify the men Wilson and McGann refused to talk again last night but the police are satisfied that they have evi dence enough to convict them themOn themOn On Wilson was found the revolver which he had tried to pawn and pester yester yesterday day morning Mr identified it as the revolver taken from his apart apartments apartments ments Job White who talked with one of the burgl burglars rB in the hallway was unable to identify the men positively but told the police officers that there was a resemblance O 0 Rafferty was later arrested in con connection connection with the burglary It is not believed that he was dIrectly implicated in t but that he knows something about it He aa seen with Wilson and ard McGann during the night but he claims that he has no knowledge of the crime The three men were subjected to the process yesterday afternoon by the detectives but no further In tor torm m motion was obtained from them They claim they thep came to Salt Lake Lako yesterday afternoon and had not engaged a room The Tho d detectives believe the they p have the right men and are searching for the stolen articles which have evidently been cach It was learned yesterday y from the proprietor ot of a 0 secondhand store on C strEet that thal two m moe 11 had Offered to sell some furs fura to him Monday night He paid no particular particular ular attention to them and at the tho they had AO turf furs with them The men were told to bring the tUI furs yesterday and that he would look at them but they did not make an appearance i |
