Show CONTEMPT CONTE PT OF COURT President of Chicago Typographical Union Sent to Jail V Chicago Jan 29 President Edwin R Wight of ot Typographical union No 16 was today fined by Judge Holdom of the su superior superior perlor court and sentenced to thirty days in jail for contempt of court Ed Edward Edward Edward ward Bessette a member of the union was fined 50 5 and sentenced to thirty days da s in jail The Th union itself was fined 1000 V The he charge against the union and Its members who were fined tined was of an injunction granted some weeks ago by which the members of the union were enjoined from Interfering In any manner with the tha operation of the printing operated by members of the Chicago Wright and Bezette surrendered themselves late in the afternoon but no order o of commitment has been made out by Judge Holdom and they were permitted to go home for the night It has been arranged by other officials of the union to institute habeas corpus proceedings as soon as the men are taken to jail |
