Show 1 Utah Whisky Fraud Cases. The case of the United Slates vs. jsixty-throe packages of spirits beforo ( the district court, resulted yeBtorday I in a verdict for the government. This (whisky was a conaigumeut sent from j the famous crooked whisky of Riuds-chofT Riuds-chofT Brothers, Milwaukee, to N. S. RansoholT aud Hauak & Co., Salt Lake city, some two yoars ago. J About this time boiuo SSO.OOO worth was sent to various western cities by this Milwaukoo house, tbe most of which was traced up and suits enlered against it. All but about $'25,000 I worth of these goods wero surrendered ! to the government without content,, and the Salt L-tke case was regarded as the test for the disposition of the outstanding amounts, and was regarded re-garded as an important one by the government. The amount involved in this caiso was about $4,000, and another small case remains to be tried in our court, to which E. S. Whillicr of Corinno is a party. Mr. Charles P. Biown of St. Louis, United States revenue agent, who has charge of these cases, has been in the city a few days presenting and arranging the eviueuee, tic, auu roceives the congratulations con-gratulations of bis friands aud the 'department on the result.
