Show WATER WORKS. Notice to Plumbers aud Water Coiisumwrs, In accordance with th provisions of "An ordinance in relation to the Salt Lake city Water Works," passed October 3d, 187t, plumbers and all parties uaiug watur from the mains are hereby notified that all draws (or water must be of the kind known as "compression." No draw will be allowed to be used which shuts with a quarter turn, if the opeuing for water be over a quarter inch in diameter. A stop aud waste, if used to fill a tank through the open end of a pipe over a quarter inch in diameter, aud all hydrant stops for horse troughs or to furnish water out of an opening in excess of a quarter inch in diameter, diam-eter, if made to shut with a quarter turn must be used only when set with an air chamber and an additional slop and waste to be used to replenish the air chamber as often as is necessary to prevent a "water hammer" or "bang" in the pipes, which has a great tendency to burst the service and mains.
