Show Good Nigut to the Baby. There is a baby up on Broadway who appears ap-pears to be appreciated. The passer by a certain house may see regularly at about S o'clock every evening, that baby seated upon a large table iu the centre like a small king, surrounded by un entire family. The house appears ap-pears to be occupied as a laundry in front, and il is upon tho table where the ironing is done that the baby ia nightly displayed. Probably S o'clock is the hour at which his majesty is in the habit of retiring, and tho ceremony cere-mony seen through tho window is that of bidding him good night before his mother carries him ofl. The baby appears to enjoy the thing himself as much as anybody, waving his arms and crowing while lather and brothers broth-ers and sisters shako their fingers at him and manifest in various ways their interest and adulation. It is a very pretty glimpse of home hfo which is given through the window, and takes away for the moment all inlf-rest in politics or tho European war. Si. Louis Rcvublican. |
