Show The Croquet Match at Lindsay's Gardens. The challenge given by the Seventeenth Seven-teenth Ward croquet club for a medal and accepted by the Daynes club, was promptly called at 2 o'clock p.m. yesterday, and finished at 11.30 lost night. Daynes won the choice of start and led for eight arches, after which the Harry World club used a little Btratagem and put one of the Daynes party out by striking his ball against the home stake, which gave the advantage to World's party, and the contest was hotly pursued for! three hours and finally won by1 Daynes which caused great applause by the many spectators present. Second game called with vim and determination by the World club, aud was easily won by them in two hours. Great applause and throwing of hats by the World club. Third and last gamo was called and the World club passed all the arches H nnn tU an oacilv Mini, hut one of Daynes' party passed the turning turn-ing stake. The glory of the contest was with tho World party, and they won the game and carried with them, the medal and praise of all present. To Mr. Lmdsey are tho clubs indebted for a line ground and unceasing attention at-tention iu the way of furniaiiing everything thai would add to their comfort and pleasure.
