Show Accident on the U, P. Erly yesterday morning a farmer disivvercd a waahout ou the Union Pa(hc road near Uintah, and he : inn cdiately flagged the west-bound freight, which came to a halt between be-tween the first named placo and Devil's gate. While standing on the track the latter gave way under the -train, precipitating eight cars into the Weber river. Fortunately the engine and caboose re.maiued on the track, and thus none of the train employes were hurt by the catastrophe. catastro-phe. The cars were bully smashed y the fall, and the greater part of the merchandise which they con-iaiaed con-iaiaed was lost. Much of tho contents con-tents was seen floating down the river past Ogden. Some of the goods were destined for Salt Lake, but to what houses they were consigned has not been ascertained. The loss will amount to several thousand dollars.
