Show The Jarlsy Wax Works. Quite a house full, especially in the parquette and lower circles, witnessed the precaution of Mm. Jar ley's wax works at the theatre lost night. In this performance certain noted characters char-acters of ancient and modern times were repressed byloc.il peonages, by ladies and gentlemen, under the pleasing fiction of war figures. To carry out this idea the ladies were apparently rather roughly handled by Mrs. Parley's assistants, who did the "winding-up" movement, and the lady who personated Mrs. Jarley made many very amusing and witty speeches, and some of the costumes were tasteful and elegant. The project pro-ject was a pecuniary success, we are glad to state, for the benefit of the ladies concerned. |
