Show Literature, From Mr. Dwyer we have a batch of literature, among whioh are Harper's Har-per's Weeklj and Frank Leslie' Illustrated, July 28th, the August number of the Popular Monthly, and the midsummer holiday numbers num-bers of Scribner's and St. Nicholas. This is a charming issue of Scrib ner, full of choice reading aod profuse pro-fuse in illustrations. "North Ameri can Grouse" is contributed by Charles E. Whitehead, and will be found interesting to sportsmen. A new story, "His Inheritance," by Adeline Qralton, is commenced. "A Rail-read Rail-read in the Clouds" is a description de-scription ot the Audws railway, hy J. E. Montgomery; "Adam and Eve at the Agricultural Fair," is by Berthold Auerbach. "Babes in the Woods," is a pretly, descriptive Btory by James Chase Hoyt; a seasonabls article is "Canadian Sparts," by W. George Beers. A couple of chapters of "Nicholas Minturn" are given. The number contains a collection of delightful poems, betides much other pleasant reading. Young readers will bo charmed with this number of St. Nicholas and its attractive table of contents. The Popular Monthly continues to improve. The present issue will be found unusually inLereiting. |
