Applications for the privilege of building magiiziuCij on eftid grounds must be in ado iu writing to the City Council. But nothing herein shall he so construed aa to prevent tho City Council from changing tho place ol location of such magazines, or as grunting any interest to any party or parties in tho lands above described. Section 2. lt ehall not be luwlul for any pemon or peraona to keep, pell or pivo away gunpowder, Ciaut or Hercules powder, nitroglycerine nitro-glycerine or dynamite iu any quantity without permiasion of the City Council; Provided, any person per-son may keep, in a canister or flask, for his own uss, not to exceed five pounds of gunpowder. Section 3. Un application being 'mndo to tbo City CoudcU, in writing, permits may be granted to sell gunpowder, gun-powder, Ciant or Hercules powder, nitro-glycerino or dynamite. Said permits when granted shall stale to whom granted aud his place of business busi-ness iiud shall be registered by tho City Recorder. No person shall keep I at his place of business to exceed one i hundred pounds of gunpowder, which shall bo in canisters and placed in a position from which it can be readily removed in casj ol fire. No Giant or Hercules powder, nitro-glycerino or dynamite thall bo stored or kept at any other place than at the powder magazines; Provided, that a sample not to exceed ten pounds of Giant or Hercules powder may be kept by-obtaining by-obtaining a permit therefor. No person shall sell or weigh gunpowder by gas, lamp or candle light, unless in sealed cans or canisters. Suction 4. Giant or Hercules ponder caps shall in all cases be kept separate from any kind of explosive powder; il kept at iv powder magazine, maga-zine, it shall be iu a separate vault or safe; il kept at a place of business, it tdiall be in a vault or sale, away from all other explosives. Section 5. A violation of any clause ot this ordinance shall subject the offender to a fino for each otl'ense, not to exceed one hundred dollars, or imprisonment not to exceed six months, or both fino and imprisonment imprison-ment at the discretion of the court.
