Show City Council. 1 Meeting of tbe city council, Tues-! Tues-! day evening, Mayor Little presiding: Petition of II. H, Proul, asking that the crossing at the corner of Third South and Fifth East streets he repaired, was referred to the supervisor super-visor of streets Petition of Bedson Eardlev and thirteen others, rr-sidents of the 7th ward, asking that they be allowed to pay a portion of their city taxes by repairing streets and crossings in that ward, was received, and the sum of ! $300 of the delinquent taxes of tho i 7th ward, was appropriated as asked. Petition of George Fail and twenty others, asking the privilege of paying their city taxes by repairing Sixth West and South Temple street, was : received, and $-500 of the delinquent taxes of the 16lh ward was appropriated appropri-ated for repairing the streets and crossings of that ward. The committee on fire department recommended that 500 feet of hese and six play-pipes be purchased, and that George M. Ottinger be appointed chief engineer of the tire department. Adopted. The committee on slrerts and alleys recommended that the supervisor super-visor be iustructed tn cleui out the drain ditch on Seventh West street, commencing on First North street. Adopted. Tbe committee on water works, to whom was referred sundry bills for water works material, recommended that the bills be allowed. Adopted. Sundry billB from the fire department, depart-ment, amounting to $133.20, were allowed. Reconler's salary for one month, $200, was appropriated. Council adjourned till next Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock. |
