Immediately after the session of the cabinet today, President Hayes issued a general order prohibiting the sale of arms or ammunition to Indians, bnd revoking revok-ing all licenses to trade in such articles. Military commandants are charged with the duly of assisting in the execution exe-cution of the order, The cabinet also considered, but1 took no action, awaiting fuller information, infor-mation, the application of the Ham-oau. Ham-oau. government to the president ol the United States and the queen of Great Britain for protection and assistance as-sistance to enable them to maintain their peace and independence.
