Show MRS MILLIE HOLBROOK IS CALLED BY DEATH DEAT resident of bountiful for more than half century dies at 76 following r injuries received in a fall mrs millie holbrook Holu rook widow of the late jonathan holbrook passed away at her home it ill bountiful tuesday morning morning t nineteen weeks ago the deceased fell breaking her lein leg M in the hip and notwithstanding e that she was in the L D S hospital for seven weeks she stead steadily y grew worse until the end came considerable of the time the past three weeks she was nas hardly able to recognize C any one she was practically helpless from the time she tell fell up to the time of her demise deceased was a native of en england 0 and was 76 years old on the of last july she arrived in utah in 1859 locating in bountiful where she has resided since a period of about 55 years in coming C to utah she pulled a hand band cart from iowa city to council bluffs mrs holbrook is is survived by the following children jonathan lindsay james and alfred hol brook mrs william hill mrs david moss and mrs harry hayes all of bountiful A little son and her dau daughters aters mrs joseph boynton boynton and mrs samuel hall preceded her to the great beyond she sao has 49 living grand children 5 deceased and 1 13 great grand children and two deceased she was married to her late husband jonathan holbrook who will have been dead 13 I 1 years next january in council bluffs iowa in 1850 1856 she joined the church in her native land her parents isaac and charlotte eagle a smith already being t church members her father died at council bluffs and her mother also while making the journey to utah mrs hoi 1101 brook went back to council bluffs seven years ago 0 visiting the place where her father was buried notwithstanding that there were 17 children in in her fathers family she only has two brothers isaac smith sinith of lewiston cache valley and one brother in council bluffs there were several pairs of twins the deceased was ever ready to help the poor or any one who was in need and was a good M wife and mother funeral services were held at 2 yesterday afternoon in the second ward me meeting etino house the speakers were elders alfred Burning burningham 0 liam amos cook oliver pierson 0 R mabey james hayes bishop emil feller and james burns the opening prayer was offered by arthur riley and the benediction by thomas howard there was a large attends attendance aice and many beautiful floral offerings 0 |
