Show Telegraphic Utiles. New York, 24. The Sun says: Or ten, president of the Western Union telegraph tele-graph company, said yesterday: Our contract is tor twenty years, and while no advance has yet been decided upon, I can say there will probably be as much reduction to certain places where there was no competition competi-tion of consequence, as there will be an increase in others. The public can be assured that they have nothing noth-ing to apprehend. We will advance rates to Chicago to 50 cents; they are new 25 cents, but were $1 00 before the trouble between the two companies com-panies began; to St. Louis 50 cents, which was $1.50 before. There will be no change to Sau Francisco, Boston, Philadelphia nod other large cities. |
