Show The i Mexicans Seizing Bullion. San Francisco, 9. The 8teamr Montana which arrived yesterday from Mexican ports brings intelligence from Lapez to September 26th that nineteen bars of bullion valued at $25,000 from the Hormiguerra mining company were seized by the government govern-ment authorities for back taxes claimed to have been duo during the administration of D. O. Mills and Thomas Bell. The amount claimed by tho goverment was $S,500, which Brooks, the superintendent, refused to pay and had applied for the protection protec-tion of the United States, eteamer I'tnsacila lying at Picueliuque, near Lapez. At this juncture the Montana saiku and nothing is farther kuown of the affair. " |
