Show City Council. Meeting of the City Council, Tuesday Tues-day evening, Mayor Little presiding. Petition of S. A. Woolley and fifty-six fifty-six others, residents ol the ninth bishop's ward, asking that sufficient of their city taxes be expended in the ward to make good street crossings there. Referred to the committee on streets and. alleys. A communication was received from G. A. Luke and W. S. Trescott, representing that a city ordinance prohibited the ue of coal oil for kindling fires, that they were desir-ious desir-ious of introducing and Belling here, a fire kindler, the principal ingredient of which was coal oil, and asking permission so to do. Laid on the table. The Mayor's report of expenditures from the contingent funi, during tbe month, $S56.25, was adopted. Aldermaa Pyper's statement of police court business in March, was presented and adopted. It shows that during the mouth eighty-four cases had been before tbe alderman: G1G.50 in cash and $225 in labor lines had been assessed and collected. The city marshal's bill of expenditures expendi-tures for March, $323.43, was referred to the committee on claims. The following bills for March were allowed. Police bill for services, $1,023; Job. Burt, janitor ot the city hall, $-34; W.
