Cohen has been vory active lately in supporting Archer's faro and freight bill in the legislature, which the company is tightiug. He ii also supposed to have been assisting Tom Scott in Washington. A sevtre storm has prevailed throughout the sute for several days past. The rivers are very high, but no serious damage is reported. The crop prospects are excellent, promising promis-ing a larger yield of grain than any previous year, with a continuance of favorable weather. |
