The republican state convention elected Morton permanent per-manent chairman, and adopted a platform expressing confidence in the 'republican party, approving the pro-'sedition pro-'sedition and punishment of effi ial dishonesty, deprecating Chinese immigration, im-migration, favoring such modification in the Burlingaun' treaty as w.ll effectually pruveut a further mtlix of Chinese, favoring a return to a metallic, me-tallic, currency, and the restoration of silver coin to its constitutional equality with gold as a legal lander, the payment of the national debt iu gold, Condemning repudiation, asserting assert-ing that the democracy is not to be trusted with tho control of aihirs us it purKsefl to pension confederate soldiers, sol-diers, p-y cotton claims and compensate the owners of slaves tor the lo;s by emancipation which would entwil another war; that the republican p vrty must not rely on the glorious record ot the past, but deal wilh other questions, chief among which is rulorm in the civil service, and the extirpation of the spoils system. Tho convention has thus tar elected as delegates to Cincinnati: John Martin, J. Hech, C. 11. Dyer, N. D. Rideout, A. D. Whitney, N. B. Gonzales Gon-zales and Josiah Beklcn, all for Blaine, and L. H. Foot for Bristow. Four delegates nt large are to be elected. Later. J. G. Blaine, yet having confidence in the intelligence of our delegates to the national convention, we leave them unembarrassed by instructions, and tree to exeicise their own deliberate choice in the convention as the interests in-terests of the country may in their judgment seem to demand.
