Show Sunday School Union Presentation. Presenta-tion. Thanksgiving day was duly observed ob-served by the residents of the 5th and 6th wards. The day bciug a holiday, it was taken advantage of to give the Sunday school children a treat which will be no doubt long remembered by them. In the morning, morn-ing, meeting was held at 10 o'clock, at which Bhort addresses were delivered deliv-ered appropriate to the occasion, all tending to Bhow that none had more reason to be thankful to God for blessings bestowed than the residents of Utah territory. In the afternoon the Sunday school children, with their parents and friends, enjoyed themselves in the dance, with songs and other amusements interspersed, for about two hours, when the presentation presen-tation of an address to Elder S. L. Evans, late superintendent of the Sunday school, on his elevation to assistant superintendent of the Sunday Sun-day School Union, took place. The testimonial was presented by Elder James Foulton, sen.i on behalf of the testimonial committee, in a few appropriate ap-propriate remarks, illustrating the rise and progress of the Sunday school in those wards, And the assiduous attention and labor bestowed by Elder Evans towards that end. Elder Evans acknowledged the testimonial, and short addresses to the children were given by Bishop Hickeulooper, and Elders Goddard and Willea. A short recess was taken, tables were , laid and furnished with a great variety , of the good things of this life, all ot which were donated by the residents of tho wards, and the children, to the, number of about 300, partook ot the repast, and were then dismissed. Altogether, the day was one of enjoyment en-joyment to all, and will long be remembered. re-membered.
