Show The Rabbit Shoot. The match rabbit shoot between the Eogliah and American as it proved to be teams, came ofl yesterday yester-day on the sand ridge. There were seven on a Bide, and at the conclusion of the day's sport, the following was ascertained to be the result: AMKBICAK3. ENGLISH. 0. E. Wallin, 29 Mr.Latey, 23 fj. A. Black, 40. 3. S. Walker, 20f A. Pratt, 41 G. A. Meearg, 39 W. K. Pickard, 30 Oo&rley Head, 31 J. Sharp, jr., 49 M. Medhurst, 56 B. Roboru, 26 M. U. Walker, 21 Vandercook, 30 Mr. Brookj, 85 Total, - 2551 Total, - 227 Tbe icoro shows that tbe EDglish were defeated by 25, the total number num-ber of rabbits slaughtered by the 14 hunters being 4321. This is very good considering thb fearful slaughter that took place some weeks ago. Messrs. H. P. Kimball and son, M. K. Harkneas and P. Dewey, went out as a sort of independent team and their spoil, at the oounting up time, consisted of 116 rabbits, which, added to the 4S2, makes 59S. All bad a good, jolly time, and came home well satisfied. Tbe i in the totals is explained in the following way: Black killed 40 and picked up one that had been shot somewhere in the prehistorio ages, aud counted his acore at 41; however, as half the animal had decomposed and dropped 00, it was decidtd to put his score at 40J. f Mr. 8. S. Walker had a Bore hand and could only ose ooe, whioh accounts ac-counts for his seeming low score, but wbich is really a very high one, considering con-sidering his crippled condition. |
