Show City Council. ProceediogB at the city council on Tuesday evening, July loth, 1S79, Mayor Little presiding: A petition waa presented, aigned by Morris Brothers asking the return of money for two lots in plat H,. purchased pur-chased of the city in 1S68, and Biooei included in the Fort DouglaB Military Mili-tary Reservation. Granted, and purchase pur-chase money, $10, appropriated, to be refunded to petitioners. A petition was presented from Richarda Brothers, setting forth that a certain asistnt watermaster, be-lieviug be-lieviug it to be his duty, had refused them tho right to water in a certain ditch running through tbeir property on block 76, plot A, and, as the city council bad constituted themselves, by ordinance, or-dinance, a board of equalization to hear and determine complaints in relation to irricaliog water, the petitioners peti-tioners appealed to the council to overrule the decision of tbe water-maBter water-maBter and restore to them the water ol which thty had been deprived. Referred to the committee on irrigation, irriga-tion, The committee on municipal laws, to whom was referred the Bubjcct of amending the ordinance on water works so aa to curtail tho Bprinkling of lawns, etc., reported that upon examination ex-amination they found the provisions ol the ordinance afforded ample power to restrict the use of water during tbe times of its scarcity. Report accept;d and the mayor authorized to make and have published tuch rules and regulations aa will prevent all extravagance or unnecessary waste, in the use of water from the water worka, duriug the present season of drouth. The committee on claims to whom was referred the communication ol B. Y. Hampton, asking that ho be allowed a certain percentage on licenso collections insteiid of being paid aa a policeman, reported and recommended that he be released as regular policeman and that bia salary be fixed at $125 per month commencing from July 1st, 1879, and that the tame be charged to license account. Adopted. The quarterly bill of Geo. C. Fergu eon (or windinp, repairing and attending at-tending to the city hall clockB to July 0th, 1879, $22.50, was allowed. Mr. Geo. B. Wallace addreseed the council in relation to a certain mis-underotandiug mis-underotandiug he had contracted in relation to the appropriation of i-uOO mado by the council in August ol Jaet year for the construction ol a canal in the western part of the city.
