On the evening of the 26th of January a mob armed wiih machetes and rifles, attacked the Protestant church recently established estab-lished at Acapulco by Rev. Hutchinson, Hutchin-son, superintendent of the Presbyterian Presbyter-ian mi-aion. Hut:hinsou escaped to a United States man-of-war in the harbor. General Mejia, commandant ot the castle, ordered out troops who charged tlie mob, and four Mexicans and one American were killed. Eleven others were wounded. None of the rioters were arrested. An investigation investiga-tion is in progress, and reinforcements were Bent from this city to protect the j judge who is making it.
