Show ''Ail Evening in Italy.' As was anticipated, a large audience audi-ence greeted Mr. F. S. Richards of Ogden, to listen to his - interesting lecture, delivered last evening in the Htb ward assembly rooms. It would be al moat an impossibility to give a review of this effort, as in the main, it is descriptive, touching liberally on historical events and nerEOnaeea. The speaker proceeded briefly through France and Switzerland to the country coun-try of bis address. Some very eloquent elo-quent and graphic descriptions o' piaces were given, commencing really at Genoa, where he rested on his travol aud paid a tribute of reBpect to Columbus, whoBe birthplace Genoa is; then passed on to Piaa and Elba, at which latter place referred at some length to Napoleon; thence to Rome, which occupied the main part ot the ledum, speaking of its foundation, lise, f.tll, decline, religion, historical works and personages, and public buildings. From Rome be proceeded to Naples, where the lecture cop eluded. The efiort was an eloquent one, aud was listened to with an unusual un-usual degree ot attention and interest, of which it was worthy. |
