Show Madame Brolowsky's Lecture. There was quite a large audience at Independence Hall on Sunday evening even-ing to bear Madame Btoloweky lecture lec-ture on "Russia-Poland and the Siberian Exile." The lady has a decidedly foreign accent and pronunciation, pro-nunciation, and though tolerably fluent in her expression would every now and then fall into those errors which are so common to foreiguera and make our language euch a Btum- j bling block to persons endeavoring to learn it. The lady possesses a vein of humor, which produced a number of hearty laughs during her talk, and on the whole the lecture was very good, and much better than was generally expected. On motion of Prof. Benner the lady was invited to continue her story at the same place next Thursday Thurs-day evening and at the same hour, and Madame Brolowsky consented, A collection was takon up and the response was quite liberal. She will next speak on tbe Cossacks and give a history of her life. |
