Show BEAVER Getting Ready for Winter. Theatrical, Industrial, Educational, Educa-tional, Etc. Beaver Cm-, Beaver Co., December lltb, 1877. Editors Herald: As tbis point has not had a scribbler iu the field, and we have not been heard from for some lime, I have concluded to once mure take up the Faher. Bcayer county has been remarkably remark-ably quiet for some months, owing perbapB to tbe dull times aa regards cash. For some yenrs paat lh;a county has taken tLe lead in Southern Utah iu mining sfiairs, but of late there has been a sudden change in ibis matter, at least since Leeds has stepped boldly to tbe front and demanded de-manded tbat the "silver banner" should be unfurled upon her soil. DnnH anri incnnrtiainv mriftrta hn- ever, come up almost daily from I Frisco and tbe surrounding districts, showing that they are steadily improving. im-proving. Our merchants are filling tbeir shulvai with a large supply of goads, not furgettiog that Santa Claus will soon make his annual visit to gladden the hearts uf lbs young. It would seem that there are already enough boots, oboes, hardware, clothing, groceries Inner goods and the like, to supply this city und county for the next .wo years, but still they come and more are biding ordered. There mti-:t be cash somewhere. We had a visit last week from tho Hiwielle troupe who entertained us for tlircf nights in Buccfasion. The Q ret night they give us "Rip Van Winkle" with ".riduy Miles' Boy," Tbe ! Becond night was "Driven From Home," and tbe third night "Ead Lyunti" with "Hole In the Wall," all of which were well played, considering consid-ering the short notice and poor stage and scenery, which, by the-by, is no great credit to Beaver. They intend giving us another call as they come up from Frisco, on their return to your city. Tne Beaver woolen factory has just finished this season's run and takes a res', until spring. j VV Iihv :,ur daily- schools in this cily, nil ot which bve a tood attend ant, besides one or two evening MCllOills. T ie Y. il. & Y. L M. I. A. are holding wekly meetings and much gOiAl I1.18 already been done lor the1 youth by these societies. Tbe minds of the young are gradually being turned from frivolous thiDgs to something some-thing more real and substantial, and surely it ia needed, Tbe health of the people is generally gene-rally good.
