Show The pkesidest haa nominated John W. Hoyt for Governor of Wyoming Wy-oming territory, viceTuayerremoved. It is more than probable that the Judge Peck matter has had something some-thing to do with this gubernatorial change. Ex-Senator Thayer seemed to have the interests of the territory at heart, aud hence took sided with the people against the imposition up on them of a judge so distasteful and objectionable ab Peck. When it is remembered that Peck was a schoolmate of Hayes and that a warm personal frienddbip exists between them it can readily be understood under-stood huw the latter would not be likely to retain in office one who has taken such a prominent part in trying to rid the territory ot the oL'ensive judge, aa Governor Thayer. How-over, How-over, Govurnor T. in retiring, carries with him the respect and good feeliDg of the people, and he can go out of office with credit to himself. It is butter to be right, than govornor. |
