Show C0RINNE. TJie Corinntliians Appreciate Governor Gov-ernor Axtell's Visit. Corinxe, Utah, Feb. 25th, 1875. Editors Herald: In a personal allusion to the proposed pro-posed visit of Governor Aitell to Cor-inne, Cor-inne, the Tribune of the 24th says: "Corinne will be astonished at the successor of Shafer and Woods," Corinne certainly is astonished at the honor of a gubernatorial visit or would be at that of any other disinterested official of Utah. It was not thus Corinne was ever honored except when Corinne was to be used for a purpose. This tho Tribune folks well know of all others, and this the citizens citi-zens of Corinne remember and have filed lor future reference, The people of Corinne have for once been actually honored by a disinterested disinter-ested visit of a Utah official. His excellency, ex-cellency, Governor Axtell, has come unsolicited, and remained with us nearly two days, and during that time has not attempted to barrangue us, or intimated a desire to use us, or evinced a disposition to put up any job -tho usual occasion of official viaita from Salt Lake city nor in fact, done anything but shown a friendly wish to become acquainted with our people. He has merely quietly and courteously received all who called upon him; has acted the part of a refined and polished gentleman, and has neither asked favors, made promises, nor foreshadowed any policy; but from his general conversation and demeanor demea-nor all concur in the belief that he intends to do his duty honorably and according to the Btrict letter of the law without fear or favor the bleating bleat-ing of the Tribune and howling of the ring to the contrary notwithstanding, and which evidently affects him not at all. For this early visit of Gov. Axtell we feel grateful. Wo are glad he has called, not that we expect or anticipate an-ticipate any benefits whatever, as we well know he is powerless to do anything for us as a community, but we do appreciate the kindly feeling exhibited, and will all be greatly disappointed dis-appointed if ho does not prove "the right man in the right place," and a governor who will command the respect re-spect and confidence of all the people. peo-ple.
