Show Educational. Logan, Nov. 13th, 1879. Editors Herald: The Educational Institute of Cache County met, per adjournment, in the Logan City Hall. Opened with prayer by J. E. Oarlyle. Minutes of October 11th read and adopted. Mies Langton was appointed critic for the day. Tbe miscellaneous business being disposed of, the programme for the day was carried out as follows: Address by Robert Leatham on the duties of trustees; a declamation by J. E. Oarlyle, which waa well delivered; de-livered; Miss Hyde conducted a recitation reci-tation iu tbe Third Reader in an interesting in-teresting manner; the critic's report was given in au instructive and interesting inter-esting manner. t Tbe programme for tbe second Saturday in December was adopted, and is as follows: Lecture on zoology by Miss I. I. Cook, leEson in elocution elocu-tion by Mr. Howells, essay on English Eng-lish language by Jos. A. Smith, lesson in Eogliah grammar by Mias Laog-ton, Laog-ton, lesson in percentage by I. Thore-son. Thore-son. Next in order waa the election of officers for the ensuing term. Following Follow-ing was the result: Jos. A. Smith was elected president; John Donaldson, vice-president; Mattie Blair, secretary secre-tary and treasurer; J. E. Oarlyle, librarian. Adjourned till second Saturday in December. |
