Show Coal. It ia rather strange that, with the number of discoveries of coal beds in this territory, but a vory small amount of home coal ia being consumed, con-sumed, and that from Coalville. It has been established beyond all question ques-tion that vast beds of ao excellent quality of coal have been found in Pleasant Valley, a short cietanco from Springville; that others iinvo been discovered farther south; others near Salt Lake, and the latest a short distance from Hunt&ville, about twelve miles from Ogden; and yet coal is imported im-ported Bucb a vast distance and heavy prices paid for it. Fortunately a railroad is being built to the Pleasant Vailey coal beds, which it hoped will be completed this fall. Should this supposition prove correct, coal should be delivered in this city for about $5 per ton, which is a fair price, and tho community will rejoice when that dity arrives. |
