Show City Coancil. Proceeding at the city council ou Tuo.-day eveuiDR, October 7tb. 1S79, Mayor Little presiding: A petition from J. J. Snell, asking tbe privilege of purchasing ten acre of land on Conglomerate mountain, east of tbe Warm Spring?, waa referred re-ferred to tho committee on public grounds. A petition from C. 0. Rich, asking permission to place building material on the Bidewalk and street in front of bis premises in the Seventeenth Ward was granted. Aiaermaa Pyper presented ibe police court report lor the month ending September 30tb, 1879, which set forth that fifty-three cases had been tried and $4(J4, total of cash and labor, collected in fines. Approved and placed on file. Tbe following bills for the month of September were allowed and appropriated: appro-priated: Marshal's expense bills ?179 35; Silt Like City Gas Company' lor sua to street lamps. City aud Fire' men's halls and city jail, $1,047.50; collecting don ui, $2y; extra police at fur and elsewhere, $73; expense bills cf the fire department, $I20.-k. George C. Ferguson, bill for winding, wind-ing, attending and keeping in repair ine Cuy Hull clocks for three months ending October 6:h, 1379, $22 50 was also allowed. ' An appropriation of $1,104.30 was made to pay dralt of Dennis Long & Co., for water pipe, and $40 to pay ioterest on money borrowed for sixty days.
