Show Fairplay vs, Review. Salt Lakb City, June 16ih. Editors Herald: I am not going to offer an excuse for Mr. StrakOEc'u, but it seems to me that "Review" in tbe last issue of the Hekald got tbe taddle on the wrong horse, (or the reason that Mr, S. published pub-lished in tbe papers, seven or eight day a before the operatio performance, just what he would do. I wob present at tbe performances and am certain that all he promised was done. True-he True-he bad no orchestra, nor choruses, hut he did not advertise that be would bave them, therefore be broke no promise, and, consequently, tbe pub-lio pub-lio paid their money without any technical reason to exptct more. If they did not get tbe worth of their money that was the fault of the management man-agement who engaged the company. 1 hold them responsible for permitting permit-ting the publio to be deceived, and it has bo happened too olten. Companies Com-panies come here frequently, announced an-nounced in great flaming posters, who are only fit for a peony show. I think it ia the business uf whoever manage tbe theatre to post themselves in regard to these matters and protect the patrons of the theatre from being, as is too olten the case, bilked. Fairplay. |
