Show Burglary. Mr. John C. Cutler's CommieMon store, in the Old Constitution bu'ld-ing, bu'ld-ing, was entered some time during Saturday night or early Sunday morning morn-ing and the tale broken into and robbed. The entrance was fleeted by first getting into the warehouse of HecBcb & Eiierbeck, which was not securely fastened. Between this warehouse and tbe Commission store tbere was formerly a door, but the place had been boarded up. The burglara bored augur holea into one anotbftr tbs width of oue of the boards and large enough for a man to crawl , through. This effected an entrance. The B&fe was then opened, in order to accomplish which tbe thick iron plate covering the lock of the door was drilled through and a bole about an inch or an inch and a half in diameter made. A piece of iron was then inserted in thia and placed against the lock-bolt, which was forced back and theBafe opened. The drawer of tbe safe was rifled of about $500, $300 of which waa in cash and the rest in orders. There were two $100 bills. The orders and papers were subsequently fcund on a vacant , lot one block west of the Clift bouse. ( So far.no duo has been obtained of tbe rest at the stolen property, though the police have tho matter in hand. |
