Show LAKE POINT. How the Diy was Spent There Thursday. Toe ladies' excursiDO to Lake Point, Thurlay, in aid of the Masonic library, was a grand Buccesa, financially finan-cially and otherwise. Three trains were run, takiog out about eighteen airloads in all, ni for such a large crowd, an excellent di.-positiou was manifested by all, everybody having plenty of enjoyment. The amusements amuse-ments at the lake were varied, consisting con-sisting of base ball, rifle and pigeon and glasj ball shooting, bathing, boatiog, dancing, eto. The ladies' rifle match, however, formed thd principal attraction while it lasted. Some forty-two entries were made, and as some of the fair participants partici-pants in the match never handled a rifle before, the result was gratifying, not only to the "shootists," but also to the spectators. Two targets were used, the distance beinj fifty yards, with a reduced bull's eye. Messrs. G. A. Heeara and John Sharp, jun., managed the firing, and much credit is due these gentlemen, and one or two others who aviated, for the success of the match. The match has occasioned such enthusiasm among the fair sex, that a ladies' rifle club will be organized orga-nized in Suit Lake shortly. The base ball match between the Tooele city club and the Deserets resulted re-sulted in favor of the former. But as the D's gave odds of 1 to 3, and had but lour of the regular niue playing, the victory is not a very brilliant one The game was chiefly remarkable for errors by the Deserets.
