Show FISH LAKE. A Trip to This Romantic Spjt and What is Seen. pASGcrrH Lake, (F.sh Lake) Auguet 20, 1S79. Editors Herald: By thesa presents you will learn that we are on the warpath for the "Fish Like uonter," and here we are armed fjr the fray. We left St. George five days 3go; at Silver Beef were overtaken by a most refreshing shower, and bad nice roads (figurative (figura-tive expression). At Parowan we concluded to take the ''cut ofl" to this p:ac for be it known there are thrdR rr.nt ri- (mm Parnoran the mountaina, shortest practical route twelve niilas; cij the Butler cut off, thirty miles; via PaDRuich sixty miles; so we (that is wife and few small ciiiidren) started bravely up Bitter Crept w'nn, through scenery grand and tee live to the sight. The majestic mcks towering above our heads, wHle from ucok aud cranny ot the rocks, gleamed flowers of varieo hues while the tall pines graced the topmost brow and garnished the sides of the everlasting hills. But the scene changes no, 'tis the road. If the scenery changes it is of greater oeauiy ana grandeur, out me road, or tract, became more rough, tortuous, tortu-ous, steep and rugged, and ever and anon we Beemed to ba climbing a tower leading directly heavenward; but at last the difficulty was overcome. We had reached the top of the nioun-I nioun-I tain. The sight was grand, beyond 1 expression or descriptiou. A hundred mountain tops and peaks were in sight, with vales between, no doubt rtlnlhpd with vprrinro nH flwnrf I with beau'iful shrubs and ripe fruit; 1 with cool springs and bubbling streamlets. This lake is about five miles in circumference and occupies the bed of an ancient crater. Volcanic matter abounds-all around the rim, and even the pebbled beach consists of the gravelly fragments of erupted matter. Trout abounds in the waters and streams emptying into the lake all around. The hillsides are generally adorned with cedar and nine, and the top with curious, halt transparent stones of colors moss agate, felspar, quartz, flint, and even some of a more valuable character. We are told that ripe raspberries and strawberries are ; to be found a few miles away aud there we intend to settle to day. There are about 100 people around the lake in cabins and camp, bjut ten families dairying and fish.ng ivtid , the remaining number transient seekers of pleasure like ourselves. ; Among tho number we find some' Silver Rer(ers Messrs Bennet, ; Howard, V auHageu, Huntiugtou, Dr. Terry, Mr. Levy and lady, Elkin, Bowland Regua, Cox, McCloud, Avery, Magrey, etc. Thick coats, aud plenty of blankets at night is the com for table thing.
