The army appro- priation bill Wits received Irom the bouse and referred to the committee 1 on appropriations. bootn introduced a bill to repeal the Atlantic and Pacific- railroad : grant. Tbe preamble asserts that tbe company baa failed to construct tbe ! main line of ite road prior to July 4th, 187U, as required by the charter of July 27ib, 1800; that it ba in fact at this time only completed its road to Veoetia, Indian Territory, a distance 1 l'2t miles from itti eastern terminus, and (hit no portion or Bectiou of the road has been completed since 1671. Ihehill provided for the immediate repeal ol the grant, except so far ae tbe road Bb.aU be completed by the 4th of July next, and lor tbo restoration restora-tion to the market of all lauila along tbe line of uncompleted road, to bo disposed of in tbo same manner as other public lauds. Ingalls introduced a bill for the rehet of the central branch of the Union Pacific Kailroad company. It proposes to release the compmy from all obligations to the government ot th United titataa under tbe acts ot '63 and 'G-l, upon cuuditiun that it shall, within eix months from the enact ment ol this bill, execute anil file with tho secretary of tbo. interior a lull release and discharge to government lrom all further claims under said acts. After debate Bell's admission went over until to morrow. A resolution was adopted authorizing authoriz-ing the president of the senate to appoint ap-point u select committee of five to, take into consideraiion matters relating relat-ing to the Freedmen's Savings Bank and Trust company.
