At the meeting of railroad managers, to-day, the following fol-lowing resolutions, reported by the committee on east-bound fraiphtn anil pooling arrangements, were adopted unanimously: Resolved, That this convention be iu favor of, and. companies herein represented will agree to, such pooling pool-ing arrangement as may be hereafter devised; that during the pendency of the preparation of Buoh programme for the pooling of business, the companies com-panies herein represented will maintain main-tain and enforce auch rates as may from time to time be established; that the executive committee of the trunk Huee, together with the representatives of the Vermont Ver-mont Central, prepare an agreement agree-ment for the pooling of such traffic to the several Benboard cities and by each ot said trunk lines to each city, with all details for the gov ernment of the same; that, at the samp time, the western executive committee prepare an agreement (or the pooling of traffic for the several western common points essential to a maintenance of rales up to each of the trunk lines; that when eaid committees com-mittees have prepared the details of eaid pool, they meet together and adjust the same (o each other and put the same into eflect. The said com-miiteeB com-miiteeB will employ such assistance as they may deem necessary to aid them in devising, preparing and Bp plying such agreement. The committee appointed to confer witu the representatives nf the propeller linee agreed that the difference differ-ence between all railroad and lake tied railroad eaatbound rates from Chicago be 10c. per barrel on flour, and all fourth class, except graiu; pork, in barrels, lard, flax or grass seed shall be 5c, it being conceded that the rates on the articles excepted would have to be governed by tbe competition of the lake lines not controlled by the Trunk road, and also by the competion of lake and canal. At a meeting of the western executive execu-tive committee it was agreed that live stock rates from Chicago to New York, taking eflect September 2d, 3hall be GOc. per 100 pounds; from East St. Louie, 65c, and other competing points to be in proportion pro-portion to the Chicago ratea. It was agreed that no return passes whatever ehall be given to shippers ol live stock or men in charge of the same, and they Bhall be good only on the trains on which their stock is being hauled. The western executive committee adjourned ad-journed to meet the executive com-m com-m it lee of the trunk lines and take up the Bubject of livo stock eveners on Saturday. |
