Show JAMES BU PASSED AWAY TUESDAY A pioneer truck and fruit raiser of bountiful passed away in his year funeral today james burningham whose serious illness was mentioned in last weeks clipper passed away at noon tuesday at bisho his home mein in bountiful after an illness of about two months the exact cause of his death is not known but it is supposed obed to have been stomach trouble mr burningham was one of the first if not the first man in bountiful and perhaps in the state to engage 0 in truck gardening for the salt lake market he was also among the first or chardis chartists ts in bountiful to raise cherries deceased was seventy seven years old the of last febra ary he was born in waverly near aldershof aldershot alders Alder shot hot surrey england he married jane shaw fifty six years ago ago 0 the first of last june who passed away twelve years ago C last Dece december niber she was the mother of ten cb children ildren seven of whom are living r he was the first member of the Burning burningham 0 liam family to join the church of jesus christ of latter day saints and was instrumental in getting his parents brothers and sisters to be baptized into the church four years after joining the church namely 1861 he and L pair a dorotht oro and sister emigrated to utah they set sail from liverpool april and arrived iii id salt lake city sept he and his family remained in salt lake until the next spring when they moved to maysville kaysville Kays ville where they remained a short time when they moved to bountiful He rethey here they bought theloa the lot now owned by mrs camit E A mitchell aud nd made a dugout ducoat for a dwelling their daughter mrs wm j J holbrook holbron was born here this lot which is so valuable now was sold for forty ta gallons of molasses from 1863 to 1867 the he family lived in millville milleville Mill ville cache valley being among the early settlers of that cache valley town it was during this period that the grasshoppers hoppers and crickets were so bad then they returned to bountiful where the family has resided bearly all of the time since Deef ased was also en engaged a ed in the tha mercantile business in salt lake bountiful bountis ul and other places for a number of years i he is survived by two wives and thirteen children three having preceded him he had sixty nine grand children and seventeen great grand children funeral services will behold be held in the east bountiful tabernacle today at 2 1 1 p in |
