Show The Concert. The concert at the tabernacle on Thursday was the most classical en tertainment of the kiud ever given in Utah by home talent. In every respect re-spect it waa a grand success and reflects the greatest credit on the performers per-formers and on the director, Prof. George Cireles3. To our public, those who took activa part in the entertainment ore so well knotvu as to render unnecessary critical mention, men-tion, "and to Bpeak of the concert is but to Jo so in terms ot" praise. Re grets wore many at the inability of Mrs. Cirolesa to sing "I Know thit My Ff-dccmer Li vein," but the lady waa fcunVring en eeverely as to rcuko it impossible for her to undertake the ilifDrult solo. There were present about 0 000 persons. The appreciation appreci-ation with which the selections from so large an array of classical authors was received provf-a, beyond doubt, that tlie t iste of our citizens is rapidly improving, aud lea is us to hope that we may frequently have such -per-foruii.nces. The grea:e.st omJit is duo all who participated in the utiiir for giving their services and time gratuitously, and not receiving, with one exception, so much as a complimentary com-plimentary tiket in return. |
