Show Gentle Woman's Way. Mrs. Anna Hopper drove into Paterson, N. J., the other day, and leaving her team a few moments tbe animals ran away. They tipped ovnr various wagons and did considerable damage. Mrs. Hopper at last caught them aud jumped into the wagon. Robt. Dougherty, Dough-erty, whose wagon had been injured, seized the horses by the bits and said they should not go until Mrs. Hopper had paid him for his losses. The lady Bpoke no word, but struck both the horses and Mr. Dougherty with the whip. The gentleman held to the bits and was dragged half a block, the lady belaboring him and tho horses all the way. Finally he was obliged to let go and Mrs. Hopper drove ofl with flying colors iind amid the cheers of the crowd. Now a mac would not havo 1 done this. A man would have hesi tated aud talked, and dually paid whatever bills were brought against him. Atid yet they say that women do not know how to transact business and are never prompt to act in emergencies. Ah, lellow-citizens, how we have misjudged these so-called so-called feeble creatures.
