Show The Election. The election throughout the city, yesterday, passed ofl in an unusually quiet manner, there being no excite ment whatever. There are but S70 registered voters in the Fifth the heaviest polling precinct in the city and not one-half of those registered there ballotted. In one precinct, it is said that considerably over half of those who registered cast the;r voles, but this is the only case so far known. There was no opposition ticket in the field, which fact may have de terred some from voting. It is impossible to give any re -turna aa, under the new law, the vjtes are counted at the precincts where they are polled, and they cannot, can-not, therefore, be compiled so readily as before. However, there is no question rb to the result, in this county, and the only thing of any in terest would be to know how light a vote was polled. |
