Show Attempted Suicide. A man named Tbotr3 B. Orey attempted suicide yesterday morning, tie was working in a vacant lot in the Twenty-firat ward with a boy, aud asked him if he had a knile, as he wished to cut some tobacco. The boy pulled out his pocket knife and banded it to Orey, who moved away a short dietance. On looking arcund a few moments later the boy perceived that Orey had cut bia throat, and at once sought for assistance Dr. New ton was obtaini d, who closed the wound as welt as be could with stick iog p'aater. Tbe man was taken to St. Mary's hospital, and it was then learned that he must have made two attempts to cut his throat with the1 knife, the first being a failure. The, gash ia obout five or six inches in leDgtb, ard extends from under the I left ear to tbe right. However the jugular vein was not severed, and it ia expected he will recover, though he tiled a great deal. |
