A great number who had registered were away in the cafuns and in the fields quite far off, wbo would have rallied around the polls at any inconvenience or loss of time had it been imper-. lively necessary. Quite a number ot our oldest citizens had, through sotou misunderstanding or temporary uo aence, been excluded from tha regis try list, on discovering which they felt vexed. The lowest number of votes cast far the People's tickbt was 806; the highest 876 The highest for tbe liberal candidates was 121. The same territorial oflicers that werB on tbe People's ticket in Salt Lake county weie elected hero. J. O. Wright was elected represent tive to the legislature for Box Elder county, nod tha following county officers were electtd: Probate Judge, Jobn D Burt. Selectman Geo. W. Ward. Sherifl, C. C. Loveland. Attorney E A. Bx. Assessor, Bi. D. Rcsenbaum. Collector R. L. Fishburn. Coroner D. M. Burbauks. The People's candidates lor precinct offices were- also elected without opposition. Nearly all the voles for the liberal ticket were polled at Corinne, Terrace and Kelton. Box Elder. |
