Show Saddle Stealing. A case came up in the police court : last night, concerning the stealing of a saddle. A Mr. Gardner appears to have borrowed a saddle from a Mr. McDonald. Some words occurred between be-tween the parties before tbe return of the saddle, aud Gardner, fearing that f more trouble might ensue if he went! himself, requested a friend to take thesiiddle back fur him, which, however, how-ever, was neglected. Yeslerdny morning Gardner left the city, which McDonald heard, aud not having received re-ceived the Badd)e, ir-sued a w.r-1 w.r-1 rant for Gardner's arrest, and be was followed and brought back from Far-mington. Far-mington. Ou a hearing of the facts, ihe case was discharged, McDonald to pay the costs. Upon his release, Gardner waa rearrested re-arrested (or attempting lo defraud his creditors by leaving the territory. He gave bail in ?500 (or hia appearance to answer the charge at 10 o'clock this morning. |
