Show An astrologer, answering to the name of Prof. Lister, recently delivered de-livered a lecture in Nw York, which he concluded by casting Grant's horoscope. horo-scope. The report ot the occasion describes the process as follows: On the wall, behind tho platform, was stretched an enormous chart, on which was delineated a largo stellar figure, liberally peppered over with mysterious signs. In the center was a square, in5ide;of which wna inscribed, "April 27, 1S22, G a. m." This chart, the lecturer explained, showed the precise position of all the heavenly bodies that make or mar men's fortunes for-tunes at tho time named, which was the hour when President Grant was ! born. From the relation of the j planets to each other, as indicated on the chart, the professor foretold a j great many interesting things, but, j perhaps, the most startling of all was j the prediction that from tho fourth day of March next the power and in-! flueuoe ol General Grant will begin to dwindle. Thus it is evident thai the .stars declare against a third term. |
