President Presi-dent Lerdos do Tejada in opening tho Beeaionsaid: Wo may congratulate ourselves upon tho undoviating progress pro-gress of our institutions. Our relations rela-tions with friendly foroign powers are satisfactory. A minister to tho king of Spain has boon accredited. A treaty adjusting tho boundary line between Mexico and Guatemala will soon bo concluded. Tho Chihuahua and Sonora investigating commission have brought their labors to a satisfactory satis-factory termination. Tho election of members of tho BUprcmo court has been held, and tho result awaits the confirmation of congress. Tho federal fede-ral district courts are to bo reorganized, reorgan-ized, and the subject of public education educa-tion will receive especial attention. The ordinary payments of the administration, admin-istration, civil and military are mado with regularity. Peace prevails throughout tho republic. Internal improvements aro going on and harbor har-bor works at Mazatlan, Tampico and Fronteraare progressing. Tho president's presi-dent's speech was well recoived. |
