Show Boand for Sticlcesn. The rumored marvelous richness of the Stickeen placer mines, British Columbia, has given the gold fc?er to some of the mjners in this vicinity, and this afternoon a parly from Alia: and Salt Lake start for the new district, dis-trict, confident of returning one ol these days with limitless bank credit. They go by rail to San Francisco, and sail thence, on the 5th proximo, Jor the mines. We hope the hoys will be Hucccsifui and return with quantum stifl'o-it, if such were possible, of the yellow dust. Theatre To-night. The line piece which Mr. Vinson produced for h,is benefit, last week, "Quits, or the Winning Hand," is to be reproduced to-night, with the original cast. The part of Longbow, Long-bow, tho great American Tiger Tamer, is one of Mr. Vinson's beat parts, and Mr. Crosbie's Joe Darkey is a most amusing character. Miss Walters personates Mrs. Allen and Mr. Sawtelle represents Thorn, the recreant lover of that misguided female, and Mr. Linusay appears as Madrigau. The play is a good one, -will form a Hue Saturday night's entertainment, en-tertainment, and should attract a large audience. |
