Show Ihe Wheat Surplus. New York, 17. Tbe World, after interviewing the leading grain exporters, ex-porters, has arrived at the conclusion that Britain will be the only purchaser pur-chaser of wheat this year, and will require re-quire from 75,000,000 to 85,000,000 bushels, and that Russia, Germany, Turkey, Hungary and other countries will have a sufficient surplus to satisfy satis-fy this demand, while this country will have an exportable surplus of 70.000,000 to 80,000,000 bushels. Wheat has fallen from 160 in September, Sep-tember, 1S73, to 120 in September, 1S74, and the farmers are pursuing the Bhort-sighted . policy of holding the crop back to secure higher prices. On account of the over supply of wheat the earliest sellers are likely to get the best prices, and the Wadd suggests that the European countries should not bB allowed to take the keen edge off the demand, leaving America to accept reduced prices. |
