A communication was received from the House announcing that passage of (C. F. 15) ''An Act amending an Act to incorporate Irrigation Companies." ' Mr. Woodruff, from the Committee on Claims and Appropriations, to whom waa referred the petition of J. W. Fox, praying for an appropriation for services and office expenses, reported report-ed favorably upon said petition, and recommended that the sum of $1,250 be incorporated in the general appropriation appro-priation bill for that purpose. Ke-port Ke-port accepted and committee instructed instruct-ed accordingly. An Act to amend an Act entitled ''An Act to regulate proceedings in civil cases in the curts of justice of this Territory, aud to repeal certain Acts and parts of Acts," approved February 1870, was taken up on its second reading, amended and, pending pend-ing consideration was laid on the table till called for. A petition from sixty citizens of Alta, Little Cottonwood, praying that powder and glycerine Jor sale in that camp, be stored under statutory regulations reg-ulations waa referred to the committee on Mineral Resources. Mr. Farr. chairman of the committee com-mittee on Judiciary, to whom was referred re-ferred Council bill for an " Act Act amending an act in relation to marshals and attorneys," reported the same hack without amendments and recommended its passage. Mr. S. S. Smith, chairman of the committee on Claims and Appropriations, Appro-priations, to whom was referred the petition of Wm. Willes, praying that $200 be appropriated to him. for services ser-vices as superintendant of common schools, reported the same back and recommended that tho amount be placed on the general appropriation bill for that purpose. Report adup-ted. adup-ted. Mr. Rowberry presented a bill for ' 'An Act concern! ng mortgages of personal property;" referred, and aixty copies ordered printed. On motion of Mr. Rowberry, the Committee on Elections was instructed instruct-ed to ascertain what officers, if any, , have to be elected by joint vote of the Legislative Assembly at this session, and report the same to tiie House at an early day. Mr. Face, Chairman of the Committee Com-mittee on Counties, to whom was referred re-ferred the Council bill for "An Act to attach Piute county to the Second .Judicial District," reported the same back and recommended its passngo. Council bill for "An Act in relation to Marshals and Attorneys," was taken up and read. On motion of Mr. W. G. Smith, the Committee on Counties was instructed to consider the propriety of establishing, establish-ing, or more clearly defining, the boundary line between Weber and Morgan counties, at or near Devil's Cate, in Weber canon. Council bill for "An Act to attach the county of Piute to the Second Judicial Ju-dicial District" was passed. Adjourned till 2 p.m. on Monday. |
