Show The Wfomins Election. The Territorial election of our neighbor, Wyoming, occurs to-day, and will doubtess be tho most hotly contested election ever held there. The Democrats and the Republicans have full tickets in the field, and their canvassers have been energetically energetic-ally working for several weeks. The candidates for delegate to Congress are, W. R. Steele, (Democrat, and Jame3 M. Carey(Republican). From 'gentlemen who are posted on political affairs in the Territory, we learn that Steele is the popular candidate, and wilt doubtless be elected by a large majority. Mr. Steele is an old resident resi-dent of Wyoming, and 13 not a carpet-bagger; while Carey is a Federal jude. Like the people of Utah our Wyoming neighbors are not particularly particu-larly in love with imported officials, and prefer to fill their offices with men of their own selection. Mr. Carey may be a very good man, and competent for the position, but he labors uuder the disadvantage of being n carpet-bagger, a thing which calls forth iiltlo admiration in the Terri-, Terri-, tnrir. We bnpn M r. Steele will be ! elected. |
